"Synchaeta pectinata rotifer, differential interference contrast microscopy. Synchaeta pectinata is a small predator, approximately 0.45 millimetres in length, and a fast swimmer. At the front of their body they have hair-like cilia, called corona, which they use to propel themselves. They live in freshwater or marine waters, mainly near the surface. They will eat small organisms and particles, and are prey to fish and water-flea."
