Northern Future Forum; ICELAND: Reykjavik:INTSigmundur David Gunnlaugsson (Iceland Prime Minister) speaking SOT - It was a fascinating morning, helpful to our work. I attended a couple of sessions with different themes, all extremely interesting. We discussed Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, who practiced for 15 hours a day before relaxing his image. We also made some Lego together, it looked more like a dog than a duck, then we learned there is no wrong way to make a duck. You can make a duck 9 million ways with the same 6 pieces of lego. We discussed how we can be more creative in our societies, we want to maintain the fundamentals. allow the children to experience more and learn in different ways. We also learned that politicians need to play more, need to be more creative. We talked of smart cities, models that can predict the future, they can try things out in virtual realty. This can be helpful in city planning, but the possibilities are endless. We can calculate the human factors in economics which we could not do before. The next thing we studied was garbage and that was a fascinating subject. You can reorganise waste disposal, save money and help protect the environment. A clever Finnish guy was a phone engineer, he went into waste disposal and revolutionised it. We also talked about how we can revolutionise the way that governments can interact with people.
