Israeli airstrike hit Beit Lahia in Gaza

BEIT LAHIA, GAZA, PALESTINE - APRIL 23: Israeli army's attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip have been going on for 200 days without interruption, while Palestinians in Beit Lahia and Jibalia Refugee Camps have started to move to avoid the attacks on the north of Gaza. Palestinian Sabir Galiye, whose house in Beit Lahia was hit several times during the Israeli attacks and was forced to leave his house multiple times, explained on Tuesday (April 23) what happened by saying; "There is not a single safe place in Gaza, but we left our homes after Beit Lahia was declared a military zone," adding that he was asked by Israeli forces to evacuate the area whenever there was an attack on his neighborhood. As Galiye spoke an Israeli airstrike hit a residential area nearby and the attack was documented by the camera as Anadolu interviewed the man. After the attack, Galiye said, "You saw what the bombardment was like. We walk on the roads and they bomb behind us. It catches us wherever we go. My children are still walking behind me. May God protect them," summarizing their situation. Israel has launched a brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023 following a Hamas attack that killed nearly 1,200 people. Nearly 34,100 people have since been killed and 77,000 others injured mass destructions and severe shortages of necessities. The Israeli war has pushed 85% of Gaza’s population into internal displacement amid acute shortages of food, clean water, and medicine, while 60% of the enclave's infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.(Footage by Emam Bader/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
