Scientist explains endocrine disruption from plastics at Senate hearing

Environmental Health Sciences Founder John Peterson Myers tells the Chemical Safety, Waste Management, Environmental Justice and Regulatory Oversight Subcommittee in testimony that endocrine disrupting compounds are not the only chemical hazard in plastics, but because they cause harm at such extraordinarily low doses affect literally all physiological processes with throughout our bodies which make sure the fetus grows up to be a healthy adult, ensure that healthy adults age well, chemicals are we are exposed to hundreds of endocrine disrupting compounds throughout our lives, including from plastics, many chemicals leaching out of plastics are EDCs that links them to a wide array of epidemics of non communicable diseases like breast cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, infertility, immune disorders, and brain impediments including ADHD and autism, the toxicity in plastics comes from three different sources including the basic building block polymer that becomes the chain that makes a plastic.
