During rally at Olympia Stadium, SOT Dwight Eisenhower speaks of Russian casualties in taking Berlin at the end of WWII; he notes visiting Potsdam where he made two recommendations that were both disregarded, "The first is that we do not divide Germany into pieces and the second is that we do not invite or beg Russia to get in the Japanese war"; he then quotes Senator Arthur Vandenberg, "The United States has no ulterior designs on any of its neighbors anywhere on earth..."
