Says countries increasingly accept they might have to choose on specific issues like 5G infrastructure at congressional briefing

Brookings Institution Lee Kuan Yew Chair in Southeast Asia Studies Lynn Kuok discusses how countries said they did not want to be forced to choose between the United States and China across issues and in general alignment, but increasingly accepted they might have to choose on specific issues like banning 5G infrastructure or restricting Chinese access to semiconductors, though what was fair was for the United States to expect Southeast Asia to make a clear choice on being for international law at a US-China Economic and Security Review Commission briefing on United States and Chinese relations with Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.
