Barton and Castor Statements at Markup on ACA Replacement

Texas Congressman Joe Barton says at a markup in the House Energy and Commerce Committee that the Affordable Care Act is in a death spiral and that the legislation will not work, that the Republican bill can be improved upon. Barton says that he plans to offer amendments that would end medicare expansion at the end of this fiscal year and end the transition period. Florida Congresswoman Kathy Castor says that the Republican bill will eliminate healthcare for millions of Americans. Castor says that the Republicans promised a bill that would provide better care and for cheaper, that the current bill does not do that.
