Senator Schumer floor remarks on opposition to immigrant family separation

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says no one should be allowed into the country who do not meet legal requirements but there is an adjudication process that did not require separation of parents from their children as the Trump administration had decided in a crueler, more callous, expensive and time-consuming approach. Schumer reads from a letter of former US attorneys who call the policy a radical departure, dangerous, expensive and inconsistent with the values of their institution.
