Senator Casey floor remarks on immigrant children risk of toxic stress

Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey says hours before President Donald Trump issued an executive order largely rescinding an immigrant family separation policy that separating children from their parents causes long lasting harm, referring to statements of American Academy of Pediatrics President Colleen Kraft who visited a Texas child detention center who called the practice a form of child abuse that would likely cause the children to developed toxic stress in their brain and could eventually lead to health problems such as heart disease and substance abuse.
