The "Lady of Justice", a 12 foot high, gold leaf statue is pictured on top of the dome of the Central Criminal Court, commonly referred to as The Old Bailey in central London on August 21, 2016. Over the centuries the building has been periodically remodelled and rebuilt. The present building, though extensively rebuilt after being damaged by bombing in WWII, is that which was designed in the neo-Baroque style by Edward William Mountford and opened by King Edward VII in 1907.
