Black Lives Matter march in Denver, Colorado
DENVER, COLORADO - MAY 7: Justice Jones, 15, center, holds up his fists with others during an 8 minute and 46 second moment of silence during a Black Lives Matter march on June 7, 2020 in Denver, Colorado. The 8 minutes and 46 seconds represents the amount of time white police officer Derek Chauvin held down 46 year old George Floyd. Chauvin knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face down on the street. Floyd died from the incident. Denver Public Schools students organized the peaceful march in solidarity with the ongoing efforts around the country to proclaim that #BlackLivesMatter. The marchers gathered in Civic Center Park and marched along Colfax Avenue to the Martin Luther King Jr. statue in City Park. Marchers sang, danced and chanted the entire way. (Photo by Helen H.
