Hundreds of Colorado community, climate and fracking activists will protest a Bureau of Land Management

LAKEWOOD, CO - MAY 12: Colorado community, climate and fracking activists unfurled a parachute as they chant and block the entrance to the Holiday Inn to protest a Bureau of Land Management oil and gas lease auction May 12, 2016 in Lakewood. The group rallied to disrupt the auction which was being held inside the hotel. The groups plan was to demand that public lands be no longer drilled, mined, or fracked. The protest was part of a global week of action focused on citizen action to keep fossil fuels in the ground and promote clean renewable energy, and comes days after the Colorado Supreme Court denied local authority to regulate fracking.
