HUE, VIETNAM - 2014/04/18: Thien M Pagoda is a historic temple in Hue. The pagoda has seven storeys and is often the subject of folk rhymes about Hue. It is regarded as the symbol or icon image of Hue. The pagoda sits on the Ha Khe Hill on the bank of the Perfume River. Built in 1601 by order of Nguyen Hoang the de facto independent ruler of central Vietnam. According to the royal history, Hoang was told of the local legend in which Thien Mu "celestial lady" foretold that a lord would come and build a pagoda on the hill to pray for the country's prosperity.
