Sen. Rand Paul Donates Services to the Poor in Guatemala
SALAMA, GUATEMALA - AUG 18, 2014: Sen. Rand Paul uses a microscope device to see the intricate details of the eye as he does surgeries. Here he adds moisturising drops to keep the eye hydrated just prior to a cataract removal procedure on Maria Castro who was one of several people that Paul performed surgery on. Senator and ophthalmologist Dr. Rand Paul (R-KY) joined a medical team from the Univ. of Utah's John A. Moran Eye Center for three of the five days that the event took place in Salamá, Guatemala to do pro bono eye care, mostly cataract surgeries and check-ups. Scores of operations were performed by Paul and the team of doctors from Utah at a Lion's Club eye hospital in Salamá. (Photo by Michael S. Williamson/The Washington Post via Getty Images)
