PIERRELATTE, FRANCE - SEPTEMBER 29: Newly hatched African dwarf crocodiles (Osteolaemus) in captivity at the Pierrelatte Crocodile Farm on September 29, 2014 in Pierrelatte, France. The Crocodile Farm opened in Pierrelatte 20 years ago and it has become the most visited tourist sites in the Drome and the second in Rhone-Alpes. The Crocodile Farm now has 29 permanent staff members and last year recorded 285,000 visitors and a turnover of four million euros. The 8000 square meter greenhouse is home to more than 400 animals, which evolve freely, including nine species of crocodile, giant tortoises of the Galapagos and Seychelles and tropical birds. The Crocodile Farm is not just a zoo but is also a center for scientific research on reptiles, working with researchers from a number of national and international research institutions.
