Mike Garcia grew up in the gang culture of Boyle Heights and now is trying to get some of the young

Mike Garcia grew up in the gang culture of Boyle Heights and now is trying to get some of the younger generations to turn their back on the violent subculture that is growing in influence and popularity. He works with White Memorial Hospital to talk to gang members who are victims of violent crime or other medical issues. Mike embraces Claudia Marinon, left, and her 15 year–old daughter Elsie Garcia in the emergency room. They are old friends and Marinon also works on gang intervention in Boyle Heights.
