According to latest measurements from the U.S Drought Monitor report on August 19, 2014, , nearly 100% of California remains in the third-harshest category for dryness as 82% of the State continues to suffer 'extreme' drought. And a report released in July by the California Department of Water Resources showed 10 of the state's 12 major reservoirs below 50 percent of their total capacity, with some nearing just twenty percent.
