FRANCE-WWII-ALLIED-AVIATION-RESISTANCE-FRETEVAL-CAMPS
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY DENIS ROUSSEAU
British Royal Air Force veteran Raymond Worrall, 90, speaks on June 27, 2014 to Belgian soldiers in the Freteval forest, at the site of a secret camp which was organized in 1944 by members of the French Resistance and that he joined after his plane crashed on the night of July 25 to 26, 1944, in a field near the village of Villebout, during World War II. Worrall, a mechanic on a Lancaster airforce plane, was one of about 150 allied military aviation pilots and staff who were shot down over France and joined this secret camp. 18 Belgian airforce pilot trainees are working to recreate the makeshift camp ahead of commemorative ceremonies.
