ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN - 2014/04/23: An Afghan refugee woman carries firewood on her head as she makes her way back to home in the slum area in the outskirts of Islamabad, Pakistan. More than five millions of Afghan refugees fled their homeland since Soviet invasion in 1970s. Some 3.6 million Afghan refugees have been repatriated to Afghanistan from Pakistan since March 2002, under a tripartite agreement between the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan. More than 1.6 million Afghan refugees are still living in Pakistan, especially in camps and slums areas and not returning to their homeland due to continued conflict in Afghanistan.
