Bath's Bell Inn Saved By Community Buyout Scheme

Customers of the popular music venue have raised 720000 GBP to buy the pub from its current owner in a campaign to save it, which has been backed by rock stars including Robert Plant and Peter Gabriel. When the pub was put up for sale, customers launched a buyout with shares priced from 500 GBP to 20,000 GBP to initially raise 500,000 GBP with a loan to cover the shortfall in the asking price of 925,000 GBP.
