That Foun is a Buddhist stupa built in 1576, in Muang Khoun, 30km from Phonsavan. The ruin is now covered and overgrown with moss, grass and plants. The hole through the center of the stupa was the work of Chinese Bandits during the 19th century to steal a golden Buddha placed inside.
